 Verified Brigette Made Our Day Perfect
Brigitte Simon with Unforgettable Normandy met us at Domaine de Bayeux and guided us on a all day tour of the American beaches, Utah and Omaha. We drove in our rental car. I had shared with Brigette that my wife isn't up to long walks particularly on uneven surfaces. She planned our itinerary to minimize this and directed us to handicapped accessible parking. My wife did fine. Brigette is a local and a friend of Nadège at Domaine de Bayeux. We hadn't anticipated the crowds already gathering for the 80th anniversary of D-Day upcoming in 5 days but Brigette knew all the backroads when we encountered a closure. She even knew how to get to all the good parking spaces. We started at Sainte Mère Église where paratrooper John Steele became entangled in the church steeple. This is a stained glass window in that church honoring the paratroopers. The whole area was full of restored jeeps and soldiers in uniform, many on active duty from the nearby bases. Just across the way, a fence still shows the signs of the fierce battle that took place there. Brigette had made us lunch reservations at Le Roosevelt where Brigette knew everyone. Le Roosevelt occupies a building that the Germans used for a telephone exchange. They had painted false windows on the bunker in an attempt to disguise it. Following D-Day, the U.S. Navy used it as a communications center. Everywhere were American and French flags. Brigette said that some of the nearby farmers let the cattle use the bomb craters for watering holes. At Utah Beach, there is a huge slab of concrete that was expelled from the German ammunition dump when then attacking American forces blew it up. Then we visited Pointe du Hoc where the Rangers scaled the cliffs. Pointe du Hoc is between Utah and Omaha beaches. The Germans had an observation post here where they could see both beaches. There were several active duty Rangers standing there looking at the scene. I can only imagine what was going through their minds. I approached two of them, patted them on the back, and said "Rangers, Lead the Way!" to which they replied "All the Way!" I got chills. My wife had tears. The last stop was the American Cemetery. It is American soil. The cemetery is located on a 172.5 acre cliff overlooking Omaha Beach. There are 9,387 graves of American soldiers who died in France during World War II. That is only about 40% of the casualties as the rest were returned to the United States.

 Verified Most amazing Guide for a tour of Normandy
What an amazing tour with Brigitte, she made our visit an adventure. Her knowledge is outstanding , ask her a question and she will elaborate the answer in such detail, you can see why she is so popular as a Guide. We were fortunate to have the company of Brigitte for two wonderful days, from the moment she fetched us from our Villa, we held to to every word , looked in detail at the book she has regarding our next area that we visited. We asked not to go to only the American side so we started at Pegasus Bridge and that was amazing on its own and worked around from the various landing sites . We would all highly recommend having an experience with Brigette as we arrived not knowing much , but left with full knowledge and attention to details that would have been missed of this outstanding historic area.

 Verified Great tour of Normandy
My husband was in the 101st Airborne as was his father and he is super interested WW2 history. Bridgett was extremely knowledgeable about the D Day landings on the beaches in France, military strategies, and interesting facts about towns the Americans / Allies liberated.  Verified Exceptional Normandy tour with Brigitte!
Brigitte is a FANTASTIC tour guide! We booked her 6 months in advance. She was very considerate about any questions prior to our we had prior to our arrival and communicated with us quickly. From the minute she picked us up at our AirBnB, we knew we had made the perfect choice for our time in Normandy. She was so patient, exceptionally knowledgeable, and sincerely loves what she does. It was a trip of a lifetime for my party of 4 - 2 of whom are retired US military veterans. She gave us exacting historical details but with a genuine flair that made it all so interesting and mesmerizing. We especially appreciated the large picture books she prepared for each location that gave us the feel of the actual event as it unfolded in real time. Her English is impeccable and her appreciation for the history of Normandy comes through in every way. She kindly gave us recommendations, directions, and information for other sites we were going to on our own - even quickly responded to a follow-on question the day after our tour!  Verified Our day in Normandy with Brigitte.
Our tour with Brigitte was an absolute highlight of our time in France! Brigitte was patiently waiting for us at our hotel in her very nice Mercedes van. There were 6 of us traveling together and we were all very excited for this tour. My father was a veteran of the DDay landing and we went there to honor him. I brought with me my Dad’s medals and many records he had from that day! Brigitte read his letters out loud and we all got so emotional. It made the entire experience come even more alive! Brigitte took such good care of us and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. Everyone in our group loved so appreciated the day she provided for us.

 Verified Absolutely Amazing and Truly 'Unforgettable'
I unequivocally give the highest possible recommendation to Brigitte! My parents were visiting from the States and my Dad is a WW2 encylopedia. My Dad's dad (my grandfather) landed DDay +4 and was engaged all over Northern Europe in the Army. Bridget was kind, patient, and knowledgable. All of the tour stops were appropriately moving and Brigitte gave excellent background information. My favorite times were between the stops, however, where she indulged my Dad's enthusiasm, even naming him her 'assistant' which tickled him immensely. She made an unscheduled swing by Pegasus Bridge as a special surprise and my parents couldn't stop raving about her.  Verified An Excellent Choice!
My friends and I recently toured the Normandy D Day region as a shore excursion while our cruise ship was docked in Cherbourg France. Unforgettable Normandy provided us with a comfortable vehicle and a comprehensive itinerary. Brigette is knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. Brigitte was just fabulous! I recruited 6 “strangers” from the ship and all 8 were comfortable in her 9 passenger Mercedes van. My husband has a folding mobility scooter and she was able to take it with us (Princess cruise tour booted us off because of this - thank goodness!) She was prompt, tailored the tour to what we wanted, had local knowledge, and made the tour so meaningful. Can’t say enough good things about her and the tour. Not cheap - 890£ - but divided, about HALF the ship cost! Thank you again Brigitte.
